Every generation has an epic and memorable music festival. One young woman thinks this will be hers until every expectation is destroyed piece by piece. She’s not alone. They find themselves stuck in a small airport without their luggage or even a charger so they can connect with their family, friends, and followers. All she wants to do is get on a plane and go home but that is proving to be difficult.
Her daughter is forcing her to clean out her hoarded home but does the home want to be cleaned out? The deeper they go, the more secrets they uncover. Dead animals aren’t the only thing they discover before the hoard comes crashing down.
Her girlfriend isn’t the type of woman go to camping, even in an RV, but is making the best of it. That is until their curiosity about local urban legends leads them to hunt for the trees that bleed.
Hearing a song will turn everyone into zombies. You think you’re safe by not listening but if it gets stuck in your head, you might as well give up.
Enjoy these stories and others from author S.R. Marks.
Northanger Parks is officially available in all formats. The easiest place to get your copy is from Amazon.com as it has all three formats. The audiobook came out last week and this is the perfect time to debut the links to every edition! The ebook, exclusive to Amazon, is included in Kindle Unlimited.
Short story anthology from the New England Horror Writers
Last year my story “Does This Bring You Joy?” was accepted and published in this amazing horror anthology. Featuring stories by women in the New England Horror Writers group, this anthology showcases some amazing stories from budding authors and well known ones. I’ve read and heard (during reading events) many of the stories but mine remains my favorite.
You can get your copy on Amazon now. Hopefully, when we hold live events again, I will be available to sign autographs on my story. Here are the links and they will be added to the list of my horror books.
Welcome to the most wonderful place in the universe! A place for joy, friendship, and maybe love.
Katie Merton is a graduate student with an impulsive streak. When her aunt and uncle invite her to join them on a last-minute, all-expense-paid trip to the Northanger Parks California theme park and resort, she jumps at the chance to visit her favorite place! Who cares that she’s just started her final semester of graduate school and has a temporary job as a project manager starting in a few weeks?
Katie knows she’s made the right decision to take this trip when she meets popular YouTube personality Ethan Thornton and his sister. Spending time with them makes the trip even more magical, and Katie finds herself unexpectedly carried away by the possibility of a new relationship.
She’s convinced she’s right about Ethan’s feelings for her when the Thornton’s invite her to extend her vacation by joining them for a week at the Northanger Parks in Florida. Once there, Katie struggles with the Thornton’s domineering father, who sends her packing when Katie brashly kisses Ethan. Heartbroken, Katie returns home seeing all the ways her assumptions and misjudgments led to her banishment. She has to learn to accept Ethan’s needs and make sure they fit with hers if she’s ever going to find her happily ever after.
This is a modernization of Jane Austen’s Northanger Abbey and the 4th in the 21st Century Austen Chick Lit series.
Even when the book ends, the stories aren’t over! Join author Sara Marks for a Little More Woodhouse Hall. Learn about the war between Amelia and Adam for the men’s bathrooms in Woodhouse Hall. See how Jenna and Phi Alpha Pi’s Lydia meet and become friends. Find out how Sally meets Emma from Modern Persuasion. You even get to read the story that led up to the beginning of the book, excerpts originally removed from the main book, and a preview of Jenna’s continued journey in Purim Fling, the first book in Sara’s Yom Tov series! Like the previous volume, this book of six bonus stories is for the readers who just want a little more time with the characters of Woodhouse Hall.
Something wicked this way comes–and this time, wicked is going to win. Villains are the heroines and heroes of their stories and in this anthology they are going to be the leading players–and finally find love. In these 10 stories you will find villains from fairy tale, folklore and myth. From the familiar to the fantastic. From Hades to Grendel. You’ll meet:
A man who gets more than he expected by binding himself to a selkie.
A woman who discovers the loveable Beast in the young man she once knew.
A mermaid who is not meant to be with a prince.
A witch who has so much more to offer than a cabin made of sweets.
A singer who has promised something she cannot deliver and gets help from an unexpected source.
And more. If you’ve ever rooted for a witch, an evil fairy or a wolf, this anthology is for you.
The Yom Tov collection has all been published but, as 2019 ends, there are some changes coming! The collection is already beginning to go wide. That means retailers beyond Amazon will have editions for you to buy. That includes Nook/B&N, Kobo, and iBooks among others.
Purim Fling has gone wide! This means it’s no longer part of Kindle Unlimited and has been added to Kobo, Nook/B&N. and other major retailers.
The Matzo Ball Billionaire will do the same at the end of December. You can preorder it now on Nook/B&N and Kobo.
The other two novelettes will go wide through 2020.
The Complete Collection is already on Amazon and will be there for about six months before it goes wide. I did this primarily so I could begin production on the audiobook. There is a paperback edition of the complete collection but you can only get that from me at events or, for locals, at The Artisan’s Exchange in Chelmsford, MA.
Woodhouse Hall’s trailer is out and the cover is revealed! You can now order the ebook on Amazon, Nook, and Kobo. More retailers coming soon. The book will be released on October 28, 2019. Pre-sale price is $0.99, but after the release, it will go up to $2.99 so order your copy now! The paperback will cost $11.50.
Amelia is stuck in the worst dorm on campus for a whole year! She’ll have to make the best of it in Woodhouse Hall and her roommate Jenna will be her new best friend, Amelia’s sure of that. Jenna’s sweet personality and openness to new things incite the matchmaking-genius in Amelia to find the perfect boyfriend for her new bestie. She shoots high by attempting to entice Eric, the President of the Student Government, to fall for her roommate. Amelia’s past success makes her confident they will be a couple in no time. When that turns out to be a disaster, she is forced to face the lies she’s told herself about her strengths and her assumptions about the people she loves. Over the year, Amelia learns who she is, what she wants, and how to fight for what’s really important.
This novel, inspired by Jane Austen’s Emma, will have you laughing, crying, and finding a little of yourself in one or all of the characters.
I’m very excited to let you know that my short story “Open to Negotiation” is included in the Dangerous Curves Ahead anthology! The collection is full of sexy and erotic stories about women who celebrate their diverse bodies. My story focuses on Lydia, from Phi Alpha Pi, who has come through but still lives with the trauma she experienced in my novel. This is years after those events and she’s a much more mature woman. Sparks fly when she meets Marcus and has to figure out if their relationship is professional, personal, or a little bit of both.
