Long Bio

After a mid-life crisis and failing out of college at the age of twenty, Sara Marks decided to live the life she wanted, not the one expected of her.  Now a librarian with two master’s degrees, she plans to never stop getting over educated. She started writing as part of the National Novel Writing Month program over fifteen years ago. She likes to write women who are like her: feminists who learn to live their best lives; rarely worrying about their age, weight, marriageability, or fertility. They fail and find second, third, and (sometimes) fourth chances to correct their mistakes.

Sara’s a hopeless romantic who is unlucky in love. She cries at nearly every movie she sees (ask her about when she cried at a horror movie), but it’s full-on weeping for Disney animated movies. She grew up in Miami, Florida before moving to Boston for graduate school. Now she lives in Lowell, Massachusetts with her dog Cedric (named for the Harry Potter character). She dreams of living in Paris, loves chocolate, and reads books in nearly every genre. She believes you have to find a balance with the reality of the world if you’re going to be a hopeless romantic!
